I have a 20 gig drive. I had to reinstall XP a while ago and found that for whatever reasonI could not boot from CD. (boot order correct.) So I used boot floppies for win2server and got that running. After that I booted up, put in my XP cd and was told that server is not upgradeable to XP and would I like a new install? I said yes. Well 9 months later I needed to reinstall XP again. So I had to boot into server and run the cd from there. I chose New Install. When I booted up into my new copy of XP I found I only had 800 megs left on the HDD. So it appears that I now have 2 XP and 1 2KServer installs. When I click on C: I only see files from the OS I am booted into so I cannot delete the other ones. Partition Magic does not help because they are all on the same partition. I just want my current version of XP!!! I could live with having 2kServer on there if I had to, but I am out of space!

HELP!

If you only have one partition then they must be installed into different "Windows" folders. Look for variations of "windows", or winnt.
But, I think that this is so messed up I would wipe it out and redo it.
Question: Is the reason the XP CD won't boot because it is a "copy"?
FYI: MS does have a six floppy install procedure if you can find them.

I don't think it is because it is a copy, which it is, because it will also not boot from my factory 2k pro disks either.

I would hate to wipe everything because I did not get the low space error until I had finished bringing all my data over and reinstalling all my apps.......

any other ideas?

What does it say when you put in the CD? Does it give an error?
Also, what about the other "windows" folders? Did you find them? Make sure you have "show hidden folders" turned on.

when I put in the cd it spins, but does not start up,- then it stops spinning. I know the drive is okay from a reading standpoint, so not sure what is going on. Like I said, this happens with copies as well as manufacturer cd's.

I have 1 windows folder (which does not seem to have duplicate info from a double install) and 1 winnt folder (for the 2kserver install)
