Removing dual boot option at startup 3

I have just suffered a major system failure whilst running XP. Having had to reload I decided to go back to using Win2k. Prepared the drive as normal, formatting. NTFS partition etc. Now when starting I get the option of booting Win2k or Win XP! How do I remove the XP option?

Did you reformat the c: partition ? - Try to edit boot.ini to get rid of the multiboot option.

Hi, yes I did format the C: drive. Have searched for boot.ini but is doesn't seem to be present on my system.

The boot.ini file is probably hidden or system file. But try to change it from system tool, Control Panel.

Show hidden files enabled but still no sign of it!

Open up a command window (Start, Run, type 'command' and hit enter)
Make sure you are at C prompt (cd C:\)
Type 'attrib -r -s -h boot.ini' and hit enter
Type 'exit' and go back to Windows
Open explorer and browse to C:\ and open boot.ini
Remove the lines referring to XP - just make sure not to alter the 2k lines or you could end up with a non-booting system.
