I have an Exchange 2000 Enterprise server running SP3 which was upgraded from Exchange 5.5 about 3 years ago.
It is also running on a Domain Controller...
I want to uninstall the old ADC conenctor as I believe I no longer need this because there are no Exchange 5.5 servers in the organization.
The site consists of only this one Exchange 2000 server.
The query I have is the LDAP port was changed when the server was 5.5 to port 390, to allow it to co-exist with Active Directory LDAP on the same server.
Once I remove the ADC, can I use the old Exchange 5.5 console to change the LDAP port back to 389?
Do I need to if the ADC no longer exists?
Will Exchange 2000 work running LDAP on port 389 on a 2000 Domain Controller?

You won't need to change is back to 389 since you don't need the 5.5 adminstrator. Also You cannot change it to 389 since the active director ldap process uses that port. You can just uninstall the connector. If you want to test it before uninstalling just stop the adc connector service and disable it. The make sure exchange still functions correctly. It Should.
