I need to remove a background from a logo and have no idea how to do it with illustrator. Could you please help!!!!!!! Thanks

Removing a background Help!

Using the pen tool, trace around the edge of your logo. Once youve got a complete outline, select both the logo and the outline.
then go to:
"object" (from the top menu bar)>mask>make.
or just press "control" and "7" at the same time.
