I have a Win2003 server which had 2 NICs installed. I have removed the second NIC but am having issues that I believe are related to DNS. A reboot of the server seems to help for awhile but then I start to receive this error about every 5 minutes.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1053
Date: 5/16/2005
Time: 8:39:31 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: FILESERVER
Description:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

I have removed the DNS entries for the second NIC in the DNS Server but I still have the issue.
The main NIC had an IP address of 192.168.0.1 and the second 192.168.1.1

first of all, when u removed one NIC, on DC DNS, you need to point to 192.168.0.1 as preferred DNS, so as the clients.

secondly, on DCs, do this

ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/registerdns
net stop netlogon
delelte %systemroot%\config\netlogon.dns and netlogon.dnb
net start netlogon

Thanks benlu, I will give it a try and post back if it corrects the problem.
