I was having problems with what I thought was a codec problem. So while in the "computer management" screen, under "Sound, Video and game controllers", I removed one of the audio codecs from the properties of th "Audio Codecs" driver.

Can I get it back?

Also, I was playing around and managed to install a second "Audio Codecs" driver. I can't find a way to get rid of it.

I'm running Windows XP Professional.

thanks

oh yeah, the codec was "Windows Media Audio" codec, and according to the system information was the file "msaud32.acm"

The file is still in my C:\windows\system32\ folder. So "removing" it didn't delete it, its just that its no longer installed. How do I re-install it?

I tried re-installing windows programs that I thought would install the codec, but none did.
