Hi! I am using XP Pro and have a plextor CDRW that comes with an MP3 Player (MPV 2000) which i quite like to use to play my mp3 files. Although I have set the file association for the mp3 files to open with the plextor player the windows media player overrides this. When I double click on an mp3 file it automatically opens with the windows media player - rather annoying and time consuming when I am working with quite a few files. The only way I can get the plextor player to work is to use the "open with" selection. Win XP Pro doesn't have an uninstall for their media player and I was wondering whether anyone knew how (or if it was possible) to uninstall the Microsoft Media Player? Thanks in advance for any replies or post.

You mentioned that you use 'open with'.
After that, select Chose program, and in that
window check Always use the selected program ....
