I need to remove 'tip of the day' from IE using the GPO. Under "user configuration/administrative templates/windows components/internet explorer/browser menus" it has been disabled, but the user still has access. Any ideas why?
Windows 2000: secedit /refreshpolicy /user_policy /force
Windows XP: gpupdate /enforce
Reboot the system after.
Make sure that the GPO will apply to the user account in question.

I just tested it on my system. You have to be running IE 5.01 or later for the policy to work.
Make sure that the policy will apply to the user, not the computer. If you're testing on a test OU with your own account, be sure to move your user account into that OU. This policy does not apply to the computer.
