Remove Template Attached to Word Document

Hello there Office Specialist,

As I know now (see previous posts of mine) that if Word opens a document that it always tries to open the original template of it. The search for the template can take a while so that opening the document goes not smoothly.

For new documents to solution is not so difficult, I've already had some good suggestions around here. The only thing I have to sort out is how to 'fix' the existing documents. As I probably am not the only one with this problem somebody might give me a good tip. I was thinking in the following direction:

Is there a tool that just removes the Attach Template from a document (preferably a tool that does not open the document as that takes a while)? I can recall something as a private data remover from Word Documents.

Are there other suggestions? Tips? Any help appreciated as the issue is about hundreds of documents!

You can 'attach' it to something else, a distinctively named template which you can create by saving a document as a template.

This will take time, unfortunately, and have to be done individually for documents.
