I have two machines , I need to copy files from computer1 to computer2. Computer1 uses Windows 2003 server e Computer2 uses Windows 2000 professional.
Sometimes Computer2 turns off. And I have to reconnect(Windows explorer,Tools... )
my sharing folder.
The problem is for access my shares folder I have to use a password and username.
How can I do for don´t type them, and reconnect automatically.

Thanks

hi,
in Explorer Tools do you check "reconnect at logon" ?

To which users is shared the folder ?

Are both machines in a domain and user (in C2) that logins, is a domain user?

1) My computer2 isnt a domain user . It is just a Windows 2000 professional sharing.
2) reconnect after logon = yes
3) My logical drive looks disable , for turn it enable I have to put my user name/password.. ** I want to reconnect no user name and password.
Thanks

hi Ely,

ok, your c2 is not in a domain, then also u2 is not a domain usr; C1 and U1, are also off a domain ?

However,

have you tried to fill the link
"Connect using a different name"

In this you can put "Domain1\User1 password"
where Domain1 is Windows Domain of Server1 or Server1 name
and User1 is the user (always of Domain1 or Server1) that
that is expicilted in the share.

Another trick may be to create a local user in win2000
with the same user and password that you use to authenticate when you clkick the share.

You can also create a script (a net_use.cmd that you put on your desktop), in which you write, by notepad, 3 rows:

net use \\comp1\sharename /delete
net use \\comp1\sharename password /user:Domain1\User1
pause
