I have a user logging in to our Win SBS 2003 domain. On his laptop (from previous employer) there are old user profile folders from the old domain. How can I remove these old users? With the old local users I can simply remove them via the 'Users' option in the control panel. However with old domain users I'm a bit confused.

Can I simply delete the files in WIndows Explorer?

Regards,

Hi

If you are running XP and want to rid the old user profiles you will need to login as administrator (Either Local Admin or Network Admin) and go to:

C:\Documents and Settings

On the laptop

There you will see all of the old profiles (Windows Folders), you can simply highlight a folder and select delete, that will rid a user profile

Hope it helps

Thanks

Jamie

A slightly easier and Microsoft preferred way would be to log on as an Administrator, right-click My Computer and select Properties to get the System Properties window.

From the Advanced tab, choose Settings in the User Profiles section. You may now delete the appropriate profiles.

I cant do that. I get access Denied when I try to delete the profile. The user account has been delete and now what do I do?
