is there a quick and dirty way to remove all non-existing devices from the hardware manager ?
i switched hardware alot of times and now i got hidden devices stocking up in the hardware manager, if i show them i cant make out which is the active and which the hidden one.
is there any quick way to remove all not-currently-connected devices ?

erm yep remove the cmos battery for five minutes and when you reboot it will have to recompile the hardware list again, but remember to change the time and date ect. in set up after you do this. All your files and folders wont be affected ohh you may loose the pretty picture you decided to use as your desktop. If you find that a bit daunting just switch the pc off by pushing down the on button for at least 10 secs. This will reset all the hardware but might not be as affective as the first remedy.

If you dont ask you wont get :)
