Remove computer from Domain controller list in AD U&C 1

I have a domain controller that has died and I've already phased it out (its not needed). However, it is still showing up in the AD U&C list. how do i remove the computer from this list? i'm assuming its not a simple right click and delete, so i'm asking first before i do anything

You need to delete references to the server from DNS and delete the machine account in ADUC. Then run the script at the end of my FAQ faq96-4733 to clean up the references in AD metadata.
