HEY ALL!!!! I'm creating an access application for my business but i dont want people to be able to "unhide" the database so i want to remove the "WINDOW" menu from the current built in meny bar without having to create a custom menu bar.....can it be done??

Go into tools->startup and unselect database window, shortcut menu, and the special keys under the advanced button.

no no...i dont want to remove the window menu from the built in menu bar for good....i want them to be able to use it in other access databses......but i do want it to disappear when using this database application.

the tools startup options are specific for the .mdb for which they were set.

Once the options under Tools\Startup are disabled, how does one restore them.

What happens if these items are disabled and a "bug" surfaces, how does the developer gain access to the code if he/she cannot get to the "design view"?

I am working on a non-split database. Once the .mdb is delivered we want to prevent the user from making changes to code, etc. However, if a problem in the code occurs, we need to be able to access to the code to implement a fix.

Jackie,

If you hold down the shift key when opening the .mdb file, the Startup settings are ignored, and all menus and toolbars are available.

Just don't tell the users about this!

Regards,

Howard.
