Remove 1st Exchange 2k from Site ?? 2

we added a second exchange server 2k to our site/org.
but need to remove the first, we tried several times w/ the add/remove on the 1st but errors that mailboxes still existed, even though they didnt we thought.


we went through several MS articles and did the "remove manually" w/ the registry on Exch. 1
now on the 2nd Exch
in system manager
the Exch 1 is still listed but you cant click on it, it locks up. How can i remove the 1st Exchange Server listing in the system manager on the 2nd new Exch Server ???

In ESM Right click - delete.

Or you can navigate the configuration container with ADSIEdit and delete it there.

 
tried ESM/delete but didnt do anything......

how do you use ADSIedit to do it ???

a. Expand each of the following items:


Configuration Container

CN=Configuration, DC=<DomainName>,DC=com

CN=Services

CN=Microsoft Exchange

CN=
<OrganizationName>

CN=Administrative Groups

CN=
<AdministrativeGroupNameOrExchange5.5SiteName>

CN=Servers

b. Right-click the Server object, and then click Delete.

c. Click OK when you are prompted to confirm the deletion.
