thats what im saying, but from my understandings this can be entered at the login screen and will reboot the machine..
If you are on the console you can use the string #@reb@# to crash the machine. This string is configurable and can also make the systems dump before crashing. Very usefull if you operate a dark site and need to force a machine to crash. We use it via a remote console system, which means if the machine hangs (and you can't do a proper shutdown)there is always a way out. Look at smitty / system environments / manage remote reboot facility.

I think I know what you are saying, you enter "shutdown" as the user name and the servers drops, correct?
Create a new user and in place of initial program /usr/bin/ksh in user settings put the command you want to run, such as /usr/sbin/shutdown. You are not able to use options like -Fr. IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation
