remote mail access

hey everyone,

how do you configure and exchange server so that people can remotely access their e-mail? like from home or from their cell phone?

Setup a VPN connection. Once they dial in (login via DSL, cable, etc...) all they have to do is fire up outlook and voila!
Couldn't tell ya about the cell phone part though...

near as i can tell, the cell phone setup is very similar to setting up the client computer...

but, can anyone help me set up a vpn for a windows 2000 machine behind a firewall?

You must configure the VPN's on the firewall. The firewall is the first point of contact from the outside.
