Recently we upgraded our Definity R to Avaya Communication Manager ( S8700). We want to link our remote EPN ( distance more then 100 miles) thru IP link, but want to use existing Call Master IV phones in it for ACD.

Is it possible?

Looking forward to hear valued feedback from you at the earliest.

vsunh,

if you upgraded your r to s8700 ip-connect, then no problem -- just buy another g650 + ipsi + c-lan + medpro and set up a remote location. if you have s8700 multi-connect, there are two possibilites: either use g700 for remote location (though it has some limitations on number of acd agents) or wait till cm3 comes out, it should have a 'remote ip-only epn' for multi-connect.

We have an S8700 with a remote G650, works excellent. We are not running agents at the remote site though. If you go the g650 route, will be converting from TDM to IP to get to the remote gateway. remember to include enough medpro resources for the # of calls you want to carry.

When we first rolled ours out, our DE had us sized WAY to low on medpro resources and we were droping calls on the local lan (between the local g650s) We basically doubled the original amount of Medpros, and we are all good now.

Thanks for your reply..

so as i understand you are using normal analog/Digital phones in remote G650 gateway.

Can any one suggest , what are the limitations for running agents logging in to CallMasters IV on the remote gateway G700/G650 connected thru IP?

Thanks in advance

vsunh,

afaik there is no apparent limitation on number of agents running on remote g650s. just ensure that you have sufficient voip resources to support call center traffic volume.
