It's possible, but can be a pain sometimes. First thing to do is to download the Remote Desktop Client for Windows 98. The from there you can follow these easy instructions for getting it setup (just disregard info about maxwell school)
The suggestion Enkrypted gave you is to use a 98 PC to connect to a Windows XP Pro PC. It will not work the other way around without 3rd-party software like PCAnywhere. Just a heads up...

I use TightVNC (free download from tightvnc.com) and actually like it better than Remote Desktop. For what I do, I have to show people how to do things so VNC allows me to do that where remote desktop doesn't.
