Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way of configuring a remote desktop session so you can see what the user can see on their monitor rather than bringing them out to a login screen? Remote Assistance is not an option due to the need for Messenger or Outlook Express

TIA

With Remote Assistance you can also select save as file. then just have the person email it to you. You don't need outlook messenger

No, there is not a way to use RDF and see what the user is seeing. Try NetMeeting if you don't want to use Remote Assistance.

What about using a different remote control app? There are various versions of VNC tailored for different needs that you could use.

On the Terminal Server, go to Terminal Services Configuration/left hand panel, click on connections, right hand panel, right click on the RDP icon/select properties/go to the remote control tab/click on "Use remote control with the following settings:"/uncheck "require user's permission" to observe the sessions.

Hope this helps.

I don't think he has a Terminal Server, he is running XP Pro.

...Then VNC is his best bet, unless he wants to fork out $$ for pcanywhere software and the likes...

Hope this helps.
