Remote access

The may be a little off topic for this forum, so I apologize in advance.

What I am looking for is some software for remotely connecting to client's PCs. Generally I use remote desktop for XP computers and VNC/PC Anywhere for Win 9x computers.

The problem is, I have a client that has over 200+ PCs spread across several different towns. I do not want to have to manually install VNC or PC Anywhere on each individual computer. And while I generally like all the users, most are your typical user (ie, where is the "Any Key"...).

Is there anything out there that would require *ALMOST* zero user intervention?

Hey BottleWasher,

I also use VNC for all my workstations, as my plant is very large. I have written a batch file that installs VNC as a service through the login scripts. I got most of my info from here

Do you have to manually set the VNC password on each workstation?

At one time I had read/heard about a company that could send a client an email and the client would click on that email and some how would be connected. Maybe I was dreaming..

VNC is pretty easy to setup and I can talk someone over the phone through setting it up -- I guess I was looking for more of an "automatic" approach.

Like I said, I created a batch file that installs VNC automatically. It sets the password, and installs VNC as a service....this is all without the user doing anything.

You could run it in a login script, or just have the user double click on the batch file.

I am greatly interested in your login script. I like the batch file idea because as I stated in my original post I use remote desktop for all XP computers.

Could you post your script?
