hey everyone i'm trying to set up remote access - been a while. I set up the change remote access with the code in there - i dial the did and get a beeep - i enter the authorization code and then nothing happens. Can someone tell me the sequence of what needs to be entered after what please ...thanks.

I just tested mine and I have a recording in there that says "Please enter your security code". I put in a 6 digit number then pressed # and I got a dialtone. (I think you need to press pound after your security code)

For Example I have mine setup to do service observing remotely

VDN: XXXX
Vector: XX
1 wait o secs hearing silence
2 collect 6 digits after announcement: XXXX for none
3 route to number XXX (fac for remote access)
4 goto step 5 if digits <> 123456 (6-digit security code)
5 busy

hey thats a cool way of doing it - what i have is i set up a DID to connect to the remote access. I do hear a dial tone after i enter the access code successfully but then i want to listen to what my announcements sounds like so i enter the 4 digit extension of the announcement after the dial tone and i get a fast busy - is there some feature access code that i need to enter prior to the announcement extension? thanks.

I've never tried it to setup as an extension before, I'm no expert but if I were you I'd do this:

remove your current remote extension
create a VDN with the same number
Setup a vector:

1 wait 0 secs hearing silence
2 collect 6 digits after announcement xxxx (enter security code)
3 route to number XXXX (4 digit extension of your announcement - OR the 3-digit FAC code for Announcements, then you 4 will be able to press 1 to record, 2 to play or 3 to re-record)
5 go to step x if digits <> your security code
6 busy

Just keep changing the route to number to the number of your announcement if you don't setup the route to the FAC code.

hey the way you have your vector set does that let you go in and while in there you can dial all the different extensions to listen to them or is this a direct association with an extension so if you want to listen to a different extension you always have to modify your vector? thanks.

i know there's a way that you enter a number you hear a hard 2-3 sec beep, enter the security code then you get a dial tone after that you should be able to enter extensions or announcement extensions and be able to listen but i am unable to do that...

Here is a copy of my remote access, when I dial the remote access extension (1234) I get the screech/beep tone. My extension for remote access is not a direct line and when I dial it from inside the office I don't need my barrier code.

display remote-access
REMOTE ACCESS

Remote Access Extension: 1234 Barrier Code Length: 5
Authorization Code Required? n

Barrier Expiration No. of Calls
Code COR TN COS Date Calls Used
1: xxxxxx (barrier code) 0 1 0 10/06/03 1 0
2:

Permanently Disable? n
(NOTE: You must logoff to effect permanent disabling of Remote Access)

If you send the route-to number in the previous to the fac code for announcements, in my switch the Fac is 199, then when you dial in, you enter the barrier code once you hear that dialtone then you can dial the 4 digit extension of your announcement as needed. (call in a different extension each time)
