Hi again,
I just configured my RS6000 for remote access via rsh.
So far I've added two machines in the following files:
/etc/hosts
/.rhosts
/etc/hosts.equiv
I've configured them both in the same way, so that there shouldn't be any difference - at least on the RS6000 side.
One of the machines is another RS6000, and the other one is a PC running WinNT.
I've refreshed the inted subsystem and tried the following command on BOTH of the remote machines:
rsh "IP-Adress of the rsh - server" -l root "Command"
From the other RS6000 machine this worked perfect and he executed the command immediately
But when I tried the same from the NT machine he told me "permission is denied" and "connection cannot be established"...
My question is: Are there any additional steps (e.g. some sort of "rsh client"
, that has to be executed on the NT machine or has this something to do with ports ?? What can I do ?
I hope there's someone out there who can help me ...
Thanks in advance !
Regards
