Afternoon all. I have a system that I am trying to figure out how to remotely access the VM. It is in Intuity mode and it looks to have the default access codes built up for voice mail collect. I dialed the users box and tried entering the *7 codes when I got the leave you message prompt But it is like it doesn't recognize or break from the tones. What am I doing wrong on this??

Thanks and I appreciate the guidance.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks

Sorry for the typo. The short code is *17, But I guess you knew that. The system doesn't break from the greeting when
* anything is pressed. Do I need to setup something else to make this work or should it as it is?

*17 is for local access to voicemail and not remote. *8 when dialling in from a DDI

I appreciate the reply. It still doesn't break from the personal greetings using any codes starting with * for some reason. I did find a work around they can use until I can get it figured out for them.

Thanks for trying to help.

*8 is the access if your get to the voicemail message. If you have a spare DDI your can send that to Voicemail in the Destination list. If you dial *8 but the greeting message continues then you'll need to check the voicemail debug trace to see if it is detecting the DTMF tones or if the voicemail is at fault. Try restarting the VMPro service and try again.

OK sorry - *7 is when using intuity mode (Evil mode)

Logging in Remotely (Intuity Mode)

You can log in to your own mailbox from a telephone that is not a part of the telephone network of your organization. Typically your system is configured with a special number that you dial and then you select the required mailbox. However if this has not been set up, you can use the following method to log in remotely.

To log in remotely:
1. Call your company and ask to be connected to a number that will go to voicemail. This means a number that will not be answered by a person, for example, your own extension number.
2. Wait for the voicemail system to respond and ask you to leave a message.
3. After the tone, do not leave a message but press #. In some cases you may hear the prompt No message to save.
4. Dial *7. You are asked to select the mailbox that you require.
5. Enter your own extension number and press #.
6. When prompted enter your mailbox password and press #. You hear a summary of your voicemail messages as is usual.

IP Office Mode
Logging in to Your Mailbox From a Different Location
If you log in to your mailbox from places other than your office desk regularly, you can ask your system administrator to enable remote access for your mailbox. When this has been done, you can log in from an extension number that is not your own.

To log into your mailbox from a different location:
1. Dial your extension number.
2. When you hear your voicemail greeting, press 8. You are asked for your access code, if you have set one.
3. Enter your access code. You can now check your messages.

Tip
• If you regularly log into your mailbox from a location other than your own extension, you can ask your system administrator to set that location as a trusted location. When you log into your mailbox from a trusted location you are not asked for an access code.

By default your own extension is a trusted location. If your extension is in a public area, you may want this changed so that the system prompts you to enter your access code even on your own extension.

hairlessupportmonkey Thanks for posting this. I found that yesterday while trying to find something on how to do it. Thats somewhat of how I came up with the work around. On Intuity, you can press 1 during the personal greetings and it goes straight to the leave your message and starts recording. By pressing 1 then # Intuity then tells you you have no recording but would you like to access your mailbox? It's ugly but works.

IPOLackey I may have to run that trace. It is still ignoring The * as a DTMF tone.

Thanks guys.

why is intuit mode called evil mode, I do not that it is very hard to activate a greeting.

acss sme acis sme acss cm 5.2.1 acss cm and cmm acss aura messaging.

It's only evil if you are using the Embedded VM version. They worked the bugs out of it in VM Pro long ago.

I wouldn't say I "hate" my job...it's just that most days, I'd rather get kicked in the nuts repeatedly instead of being here.
