I have a user who is running Outlook 2000 and he deleted two or three meetings from his calendar. Now, days after removing the meetings, he is still getting pop-up reminders for the meetings that no longer exist.
You might try running Outlook from the command line in start run with a startup switch: Start, run, "outlook.exe /cleanreminders" without the quotes before you try eliminating the reminders all together. This will reset/update your reminder items with the Exchange Server.
I only have Outlook 97 at home, but if memory serves they are located in Tools, Options, Other tab, Advanced Options button, Reminder options.
