I had some experiences on my network... and so i installed a box with 2kserver and made it a new domain (i called it "net1.test.local". Afterwards i formated that box so i guess that domain disapeared. I still have my other 2k server with is a domain controler for "net0.test.local". When they both existed i verified that there was what u guys call a "trust relationship" between the 2 domains and it worked more or less like i wanted.
The problem is that now, after i formated the box, supossingly the domain shoul no more exist but when i go on my remaining server and bring up "AD Domains and Trusts", the old domain still remains there and i cannot delete it from AD.

Anyone has a hint on why it is still there and how i can delete that non existing domain from my network???

Thanks for all your help.

Do you mean this you have server 1 and server 2 and server 3, server 3 is no longer there but the replication process keeps on trying to replicate to it etc?

If this is so use win2000 tools and go into adsi edit and into domain controllers and find the server in question delete it and then goto system in adsi edit and remove it from replication 2 ?

hehe hope this works ive just done it, as i built a test server and it inpregnated itself into the list of domain servers, took me ages to figure out how to get it out of there

NTDSUTIL will also clean up such items, using its 'metadata cleanup' function.
