Something happened to my Microsoft Office 2000 Pro, I
cannot open any of my word documents. When I try I get a
message that reads: "this file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the Folder Option control panel". When I
try to reload Office 2000 from it's original CD, I get
this message: "This patch package could not be opened.
Contact the application vendor to verify windows installer
patch package". What "patch"... I didn't install any patches that I know of. I can't open documents, I can't reinstall Office 2000... what do I do... Please help.

Have you tried, looking in "Add/Remove Programs" in the control panel and try uninstalling any office programs, then re-installing them via CD?

First, can you start word?

Second, if you can start word, can you do a file/open/ then try opening a document that way?
