I know there is a way to wipe clean the software of an opt11c rls 24.24 and put it back like it was the day we recieved it. I am removing this system and installing it in another location. I had a etas tech talk me through this over the phone one night about 3 years ago. It was a command I typed when the system booted up. It was a control something. Please help!!

I think you'll need the keycode infomation to do this also. can someone verify this?

Yes I have the keycodes for the system.

At the "Control I" prompt do a "Ctrl B".

This wipes the CPU completely.

# 1 type <CNTRL> B – During the beginning of the sysload, this will invoke FBUG

#2 at the Fbug type CT

#3 at the main test menu select T for troubleshooting

#4 at the troubleshooting menu select 8 for flash test menu

#5 at the flash test menu select 6 for erase flash drive on DB

Note: selecting 7 at Flash Test Menu erases the program store on the db (daughter board). If this is chosen then the system will not come up and the software has to be reinstalled via pcmcia for the system to come up
When the the procedure is complete you should get value =0x0 this means that the command has been executed successfully. If it returns value = -ffff the command was not successful

Saw164 I erased the flash drive for my database but after a reboot it all came back. I also tried to reinstall the software with a pcmcia card and software from nortel website and the keycode that is in the opt11c fails.

After erasing you have to do a data dump EDD before you do a reboot. other wise your just putting the same stuff back in.

We just used a tape demagnitizer, waving it past every curcuit card, chip, fixed disk - all of it. Once the system wouldn't boot up we all agreed it was wiped and then went to call our boss about the success.

That's when it all clicked and now we all work in fast food.

Hi pshook,

In another closed thread (thread798-1243207), you said that you have the nortel wlan system.
We use the same system and have troubles.
(the switch is make some troubles once per month,
We also have problemes with "intel 2945abg" cards)
