We've set up a handful of Exchange servers for our customers which are all working fine. We've closed off the open relay using the Access tab in the Properties of the SMTP portion of the Exchange System Manager. In each case, we've used the "only the list below" box and listed only 127.0.0.1, and the IP/subnet of the server. They all get email from the outside world.
However in trying to get our own Exchange server to work, we've run into problems with NDR (5.7.1 relaying denied) messages. The only difference between our own server and our customer's is that our own server has 2 NIC's, one internal and one external. In the Access tab where the relay settings are, we've checked "only the list below" and entered IP/subnet for the internal NIC, and the IP/subnet for the external NIC. We've also check the "allow all computers which successfully authenticate...." box.
Is there something I'm missing?
