Does anyone know how I would deinstall and then reinstall dial-up networking in Windows 2000 Professional?
I have long and sorry history trying to tweak settings to successfully log on to my ISP. My laptop with Win 98 works just fine every time.
who's your ISP, and how are you coming to the conclusion that you need to reinstall DUN?
If your internet connection manager is toast on Win2K..rebuild it, then let us help you get onto your ISP. Reinstalling DUN is not routine on Win2K, and should not be attempted. At that point, the OS has had enough of that OS installation, and needs new britches
Thats an easier solution to your problem than a flurry of reghacks and .cab excractions required to properly restore a subcomponent of Win2K. It's just not worth it. Backup your sensitive data, and reload Win2K SP2.
Then post back if you need help with your ISP..between all of us..im sure someone has the same ISP you do, and knows first-hand exactly what you need to set.
Good luck whichever route you choose. pbxman
