I am thinking of getting a bigger laptop hard drive to replace my daughter's 10G hard drive. How can I reimage the existing laptop hard drive content to a bigger laptop hard drive ?

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

You can use either:

. A mirroring kit, with parallel adapters:

. A notebook hard disk adapter:

You will likely need two.
You can find the adapters on E-Bay for as low as $0.99 cents.

In both cases you will use a desktop to
. temporarily host the new drive (choice #1)
. temporarily host old and new (choice #2)

Or get a usb2 2.5 inch drive adapter and just use ghost or pqdi to do it on the laptop

Paragon Disk Image is just the job. It was given away free on the front of PC Advisor mag so you may find it on their website downloads section....possibly. If not go to the Paragon site.
Don't want to sound patronising but may be worth checking your daughters laptop can accept a larger capacity drive before you go about getting a new one.

Hope this helps.

10GB is rather small for a drive nowadays and I'm sure your daughter would benefit from a larger capacity drive. These articles may give her some breathing space while you consider your options.

Thanks for all the responses. I will try the adapter.
