registry settings ?

Hi folks
I'm making an unnattended install disc,and i made the oem folder to install some reg settings i like.everything works except some of the entries don't take, could somebody please tell me how to word these settings

;show desktop icons selected my computer and docs respectfully
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Clsid]
{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

or a good link that explains the registry would even be better..

Hello ifix1,

The two with clsid I cannot be sure. Are you sure you get it right, the subkey name? (I've serious doubt.)

As to the last, the line is:

"UserPreferencesMask"=hex:3e 28 01 80

I think you would be happier using the default user profile:

tsuji: thanks for the reply,the clsid i suppose is right,several dif sites gave the same subkey name and i only copy & paste.the problem is i'm a idiot when it comes to the registry,not a total idiot, just an idiot

bcastner: thanks for your reply also, i realy want to create a file that will install the settings when i do a clean install without any input from me.i'm really just trying to learn to manuver around the registry and learn the settings from the inside..in other words just playing..i learn how to make an unattended cd (which btw took me a while)now i want to add my settings to it...
i do like the saying:
