Whenever I browse my file system via Windows (2000 Server) Explorer, I like the "Detailed" file view with a list of folders/disks on the left side of the screen. The default view seems to be the thumbnail icons for files. I have changed my folder options, but can't seem to make the default behavior to show "Detailed" view when I open a new WinExplorer app.

I know there must be a registry switch; anyone know which one?

You don't need to go to the registry directly. In Explorer, set up the view the way ou like it then click Tools>Folder Options>View and under Folder Options "Like Current Folder" to set them all the same.

I haven't lost my mind - I know it's backed up on tape somewhere ....
