Good day,

I hope someone can tell me what is going on.When I try to install a couple of programs, I get registry error that I don't have the permissions. My user was part of the admin group.

We tried directly from the console using the admin, but the same error pops-up.1 of those error comes vba6 trying to write in the registry.I have no idea what causes this.

These programs have been successfully installed on Metaframe xp.

Anyone has ideas?

Thank you.

What is the O/s for PS 3.0 ? Also your could try using REGMON from Sysyinternals. I can safetly say in 10 years of doing stuff with citrix I have never come accross this.

Sorry I am assuming you are using either add/remove programs or change user commands.

Yes, I was using the add/remove and I even manually changed the session setings in the command prompt...

change user /install

The citrix expert is on leave right now , and this is a new server on our side with people still trying to get a hold of the technology. The expert is used to metaframe xp.

The OS for the Pres 3.0 is Win2003.

ascotta, I know you're right, I can't figure out how I can have these problems even when using the admin on the console.I tried installing directly the .msi and some of them work because only the setup.exe tried to write to registry.

What's that REGMON ? I'll google it.

Thanks!

regmon is from sysinternals it monitors access to registry and willl tell you whick bit you are getting your access denied on.

Thank you Scott,

I thought regmon was recording too much information all at once and was very hard to read, but another software from sysinternals called AccessEnum allowed me to verify who had rights on what, I was able to find that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run had accessdenied to everyone and god himself.

I still wonder why access was denied even for the administrator.

Hmmmm be aware that that tends to be where viruses put themselves.

So basicly we better have access denied and change it when we need to install something.I'll take that into consideration and talk about it with the server administrator.

Thank you!
