Hmm - I wouldnt really be happy giving advice on this as it is somewhat a black art. In my opinion stay away from engines offering to submit you to 100s/1000s of sites.
Have a look at especially the submission guide for goosd general advice on SEO and submission.
You may want to consider using something like WebPosition Gold though I have no experience using any of this style of products so can't make a recommendation.
