I have tried to srt up an account on my company laptop in order that I could access my local network (using a workgroup) and so set it up on another user acocunt tht the computer is part of a workgroup.

This had kicked out my settings for my domain, and so I can't access the domain at my work's LAN.

Is it possible to set it back up to the domain? (I have tried to do this through the VPN but it says access is denied).

Replies would be appreciated!!!!

Are you trying to connect to the domain locally from within the LAN?

If so, you should just be able to go to My Computer > Properties, then to the Computer Name tab, and run the Network ID wizard.

Enter the relevant information and that should get you back on the domain.

This will work only if the user has Domain Admin privileges. Otherwise, you'll have to contact your IT support folks to do it.
