Refreshing Pivot Table

Hi,

Iam have got pivot tables in my excel application. The data for the pivot table is an another excel sheet in a different workbook.i have selected "Refresh on open" option.

But whenever i open my workbbok it says "Cannot open xyz.xls"

But if i open the second data workbook before opening my workbook, it works fine.

is there any way i can overcome this problem.

Hi Natesh,

Unless someone can come up with a solution related directly to the use of Pivot Tables, what about using this option...

Using a Workbook_Open event, have a routine that:
a) opens the other file,
b) copies the data,
c) pastes it to the location required,
d) closes the other file.

Hope this helps. Please advise as to how you make out.
