When i copy text from the Notepad into a new Word document, the text is not fromatted equally, the lines are not full, there are extra spaces between the lines.
For example, the horizontal lines do not take the whole line foreseen in the Word, and i have to use the Delete key to make the text fill the gaps.
How can i make the text in the Word cocument be refromatted so as to fill in all the space in the document?

Try opening the text document from Word, and then saving it as word. This may work better.

If that doesn't work, try using the Replace features of word. On the Replace box, click [More] and then [Special] to replace paragraph marks, line breaks etc. I wasted a lot of time with manual corrections before learning about the functions. You'll see codes like ^p, ^t, which allow paragraph markers or tabs to be removed or added.

Be careful of 'Replace All', it can pick up more than you want.

PS. If you want a quick reference, the codes are:
Code:
^p Paragraph mark	^t Tab character	^? Any Character
^# Any Digit ^$ Any Letter ^^ Caret Character
^n Column Break	^+ Em Dash ^= En Dash
^e Endnote Mark	^d Field ^f Footnote Mark
^g Graphic ^l Manual Line Break	^m Manual Page Break
^~ Nonbreaking Hyphen	^s Nonbreaking Space	^- Optional Hyphen
^b Section Break	^w White Space
