I have a form that has a tab control on it. Each tab has a subform on it. Tab 1 has names and some information. Depending on what Tab 1 says, I want all other tabs to correspond to it. I have a key that links all of my tables together. What would be the criteria that I can use in a query that my subforms would be based off of. It would make sense to be formname.tabcontrol_name.pagename.subreportname.object but that reasoning doesnt work. Thanks for the help.

Hi:
Just a suggestion...
Where I have needed a lot of information about one record, I have selected the main record in the "form header" (e.g., from a combo box) and then linked the sub forms in the tabs of the tab control to the main record. Avoids trying to base all the other tabs on a selection in the first tab.
But, there are lots of ways of doing things...
Good luck. Gus Brunston [glasses] An old PICKer, using Access2000. I manage Suggestions welcome. padregus@attbi.com

Hi,

When you say Tab1 has information, are you referring to the tab itself or to the subform on tab1? I'm not sure about tabs, but to refer to an control on a subform the syntax is...
Forms![MainForm]![SubForm].Form.[ControlName]

This will work fine as is for subforms embedded in tabs.

If your problem is the tab itself, I'm not sure what the problem is.

Good luck, CJ

Sorry for the double post,

I forgot to say that your life might be easier if you based your tabbed set of subforms on a main form with a bit of very basic information. As you've no doubt realized, fooling around with tabs can be a pain.

Good luck again,
CJ
