Afternoon,

Just really commenting on the recent posts about VFP skins and XP style buttons.

AS the links to classes and code have appeared I've downloaded & played with with them and just showing the customised forms to users (with no functionality) they seem really happy with the new look" of foxpro.

Has anybody implemented the skins / xp style buttons in their applications? and what is the real world feedback like?

Does the application of the style have any performance hit when performing intensive processing tasks?

Hi

There will be a performance hit. :-(
But it all depends on your application and the type of computers used by the customer. If all are very powerful computers and small applications, you can use them. That will be my suggestion.

As Ramani suggests, anything that is done "outside" of the standard VFP interface (like skins) and XP style buttons or Activex requires Windows to "generate", "maintain" and "handle" all the additional components, and that results in a performance hits. Mike Gagnon
