Hi,

After searching through the forum archives.....and not anything to help....here i go with my question :)

I have a standard Word XP file which has bloated to 27.5mb for 22 pages which DO NOT include any images!

Anyway, is there anyway of reducing the filesize to something useful, as it is a 55.4 kb PDF file when converted.

BTW, i have switched off the "allow fast save" and "embed linguistic data" etc as stated in similar questions. "Save as" does not reduce the file size noticeably. At one stage early on the file had the automatically update feature enabled for formatting in the document (does that make sense).

Help.......

Hi,
You can Save AS WebPage, Filtered. The when you want to edit the file right click it and choose Open with Microsoft Wordand For Reading Open with Internet Explorer.

However Saving As WebPage Filtered will skip some advanced features of Word. I don't think this will cause any problem because you are having only text in your file.

Hi,
Sounds like something weird is going on with your file. I have had success with cutting and pasting to another document. BUT when you do this, do NOT copy the final paragraph mark. Turn on the Show/Hide tool (looks like a backward P). Click at beginning of document. Hold down shift + Control + End keys. Keeping holding down Shift key and use left arrow to move backwards until you do NOT have the final paragraph mark selected.

Use Ctrl + C to copy. Open new document. Use Ctrl + V to paste. OR if you don't mind losing your formatting, use Paste Special | Unformatted text in the new document.

HTH,

Best,
