Redirecting Mail & Avoiding Spam

I saw the tips concerning redirecting mail to an exterior e-mail address using delivery options tab in the mailboxes. To do that we need also to have unchecked the disable automatic replies to the internet box. I have a problem, I receive thousands of spam with this box unchecked, but forwards don't work. I need to put them working but stoping but cuting the spam.
Can give me an help please ?
