Hi All,

I have two printer queues on Windows NT 4 Server. One queue is always paused and the second is printing to the physical printer as normal.

Any ideas on the API's needed to redirect the print job listed on the first paused print queue to the second.

I have searched the 'net but am unable to work out what API's I need.

I am developing an application that I need to remove some “Credits” from the users who is printing before the print job gets redirected.

Any help would be appreciated.

What you are asking for is not for the faint of heart. Best bet is to find a systems C/C++ programmer who is familiar with the EMF file/data type (Win2k,NT,XP) or RAW.

this is a query of MS of "windows print spooler"

boolean=ALL&nq=NEW&so=RECCNT&ig=01&ig=02&ig=03&ig=04&ig=05&i
g=06&ig=07&ig=08&ig=09&ig=10&i=00&i=01&i=02&i=03&i=04&i=05&i
=06&i=07&i=08&i=09&qu=windows%20print%20spooler&siteid=us

Take a look at 6 and 10

Good Luck

Hi vb5prgrmr,

Thanks for the response. I will look into it and see if there is any way I can figure a way to do it. Failing that, I will have to come up with another idea :)

Mark,

Why reinvent the wheel, there are several off the shelf applications that already do this. We have used several over the years, pcounter by ANDTECHNOLOGIES works well in smaller environments and is cheap.

Software shelf also markets one. I think theirs is called PrintManager.

NOTE: I am not the vendor and have no vested interest in promoting this or any other product. Just recommending ones I have had experience with.

Hi Tomte,

Thanks for the links, I will pass these on to the powers that be where I work and let them decide (as the application for them.)
