I have an IP Office 406, version 3.1.65

Users are reporting that when they use the redial key to dial certain numbers, they can not complete their calls; they get telco intercept

For example, a user calls a number without the area code (9368xxxx), the call goes thru. When the user selects the same number to dial again via the redial key on the phone, that is when they get the error intercept.

However, if the same call is made using the area code, then the redial key works.

I have checked several settings from what I can see could be causing this. The dial delay is set to 10000 and the dial delay count is blank.

It seems that the Redial button uses the Call Appearance a on the phone and we have three call appeareance buttons on each set.

Any ideas?

I can see why it works the way it is, but its wrong. If you don't want to fix it, don't. Last question, did the redial problem start recently, or has it been from day one?

Some telcos will take only 10 digits and route long distance. i think ATT was like that. i thought it was only on T1 not PRI though. who is the provider on this?

ronromano, Of course I want to fix it, but I want to understand what is happening. I am sorry if you think I am not listening to you, I am, but nobody is answering my question of the differnet short codes being used either.

kwing112000, the provider is AT&T and in fact, your compnay installed this systyem originally.

Also, it has been like this since day one. Just to answer ronromano's other question.

SC[9]1xxxxxxxxxx
Telephone Number Ns7174125570 there is a 1 missing in fron of the N to make it LD
Line Group ID 0
Feature Dial

the second one is obsolete and only used for 7 digit dialing to send 10 digits to the CO,

the third one covers the second one if the CO accepts 7 digit dialing, then the only difference is that you actually send 7 digits and don't insert the area code to make it 10 digits

If you can't be good, be good at it!

This is my last post on this. I have told you how to fix it. I believe the redial sends the number en bloc or all at the same time as I understand it, and that is why it is using N not 7x's. N doesn't contain the modification for the area code so the call fails.

Now i know who this is. funny i thought it was you!!! i put this in. I think Ron is right. it is using the [9]N Short code and because it does not have the area code it only send 7 digits to ATT. just as a test try to add the 717 to the begining of the [9]N code

kwing112000, Ya know, when I saw your name, I was trying to remember if you installed this or not........small world!

My contact person at the site is gone for the day, I will try on Monday and let you know. I didn't think this question would generate such a repsonse, all I wanted to really figure out was the different path between the redial key and actually calling the number. But,its all good.........as you can tell, i am still getting used to the system shortcodes for calling out.

ronromano...didn't mean to make you so uptight.......thanks for your help anyways.

Are you guys still using us for support? if you are put in a ticket and have them get it to me and i will take care of this.

Yes, we still have a service contract with you. For small things like this, we generally try to resolve oursleves. If the 717 addition to the SC does not resolve this on Monday, I will have a call created for you.

Thanks again for your help Kevin!
