No error message and the rpm -qa|grep kernel does not show the new kernel. I will tell you though when I tried this I just used the rpm -i I didn't use the vh flags. I don't know if this makes a difference.
I was just notified about a new yesterday and went and downloaded the tar file which has all the different kernel types in there, you know enterprise, boot, debug and so on. I have untarred the file in my home directory but have not tried to load those yet. Can I just do them all at the same time. I am still new to Linux. I know in Solaris you just do patchadd or install_cluster. RPM is supossed to be what pkgadd is to solaris right?
Anyway I really need to get the kernel upgraded because it is at 12 right now and this new kernel update is all the way up to 25. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Jesse
