I just built my computer and tried to load up Red Hat Linux OS on it. Thats not the operateing system i want but will have to do untill i get enough money to buy Windows XP. Anyways, linux loaded successfully and the computer restarted like normal. But then a "Checking DMI Pool" came up at the end of a hardware and device list. And it just stayed in that one spot. any suggestions for fixing this problem?

You can try resetting your CMOS to the factory defaults.
I've seen instances where this was used to correct the problem you are having. (on Linux and OS/2)
