red circle around norton shield icon in systray 1

This circle with a diagonal bar only appeared 3 months ago. Norton still seems to work OK. What is the meaning of this circle and how do I get rid of it?

Howdy:

It means Norton real-time scan is NOT enabled.. Open Norton and re-enabled it asap.. If it stays locked out, un-install and re-install !!

If you hover your mouse pointer over the icon, it will say something like "Norton Anti-virus AutoProtect - DISABLED" !!!
