How can you get to the recycle bin at the comand prompt to restore files I should not have deleted? I did not empty the bin. I put the drive in another box but it would onlt show me the deleted items from the other box.

From what I understand, you have taken your HD from your machine and put it in another one. Now you want to access the recycle bin on that drive?

If thats the case then take a look at the drive in My Computer, make sure you have enabled all hidden and system files. In the root of your drive there should be a folder named "recycler". Your files should be in there.

I have never tried this, so I offer my modest best guess:

. First, take ownership of the drive, as it is now on a "foreign" system as a slave:
. Second, Start, Run, CMD
Type new drive letter:
Type CD \RECYCLED
Type ATTRIB -r -s -h info2
exit

Now see if the files are listed under normal use of the recycle bin.

. If not, see my comments in this thread: thread779-744465

Best wishes on this one,
Bill
