Hi there,

I recently wanted to replace a shared mailbox with a mail-enabled public folder.

I created the public folder, mail enabled it, and gave it the SMTP address of the original mailbox (first I changed the SMTP address on the original mailbox). Right now both mailboxs share the same Alias.

If I test from the outside, mail flows to the mail-enabled public folder without a problem. However, from the inside I am experiencing difficulties. I've notived that in Outlook when you start typing in the name of the mailbox it recognises two entries that look like this:

helpdesk <helpdesk>
helpdesk <helpdeskb24c63bc4acf74d48ff5bf98edf (and it goes on)

If I choose the first, it goes to the old mailbox, and if i choose the second it sends to the new mail-enabled public folder.

I want to remove the old mailbox, but right now I cannot, as some mail is still flowing into it. I then have it forwarding to the public folder.

I would really appreciate any help.

Server = 2003 SP1 Enterprise Edition
Exchange = 2003 SP2
Outlook = 2003 SP1
