We have some older Crystal reports which are based on Query (.QRY) files created with Crystal SQL Designer.

These .QRY files have gone missing and we need to modify the reports (and the query files).

We use Crystal Reports v8.5 Professional.

Is there a way to re-create QRY files from the RPT ?

Failing that how can we re-engineer these RPTs ?

Hoping some-one has the answers. Thks

Sounds ominous to me...

Perhaps you have a back up of these files?

The Query designer was a separate tool and file from Crystal Reports. What happens when you select verify database or set location under the Database pull down?

Maybe it will show what the last sql was, but I doubt it. If so, you might construct Views from it.

No backups of the QRY files.

In Crystal Designer, open with "Proceed without Dictionary" as we cannot find the QRY file.

Verify database gives "Database is up to date".

Set Location goes nowhere as nothing happens.

Show SQL Query is grayed out.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
